Is it okay to delete salesperson codes we no longer use? What happens to open orders associated with these salespeople?
Although it is not generally recommended, you can delete a salesperson code no longer in use, but only if there are no open orders associated with the salesperson. If the salesperson does not have any open orders on the system, the record for that salesperson can be deleted using Salesperson Settings. Be aware that once deleted, historical reporting is affected. Any transactions associated with the deleted salesperson appear on the report with the salesperson “unknown” for that transaction.
